The Federal Trade Commission provides consumers with tips and advice, including online privacy. Its Scam Alerts are helpful and timely.

Continuing its mission, the FTC has launched Youville, an online learning platform targeted to kids aged 8-12. According to the FTC, Youville contains educational materials and tools to use at home and in the classroom.

“Youville teaches kids ages 8-12 about privacy and online safety, understanding advertising, spotting scams, and digital citizenship. The free, standards-based, in-class educational program has fun activities to help you teach kids how to safely navigate the online world.”

The program consists of twelve lessons and is free. If you are a parent or teacher, check out Youville. We can never educate enough about privacy and online hygiene. Educating kids now about privacy and online hygiene will help build a foundation for the rest of their lives.
